THE OFFICIAL PONDEROSA CHRISTMAS CAROL/HANUKKAH SONG BOOK
1
The Twelve Days of Christmas on the Ponderosa Forum
by The Fans of The Ponderosa

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to meeeeeee...
12 more years of Ponderosa airing

11 Ben massages
Ten chickens laying
Nine Hopsing flapjacks
Eight horses gentled
Seven cows cavorting
Six thick thistle sticks

Five bedroom ranch house

Four Cartwrights bathing
Three wealthy sponsors
Two rides in the Coyote
and
The Ponderosa back on T.V.

by Barb/VCG
To the tune of "O Little Town of Bethlehem"

Here at the Pondero-o-sa
We're waiting for Christmas Eve.
Our hopeful hearts
To you impart
Glad Greetings to all we meet.

We hear the Hallmark Channel
Might fund a movie so
This Christmas we'll
Be patient till
Pondero-o-sa is a go.

A Hanukkah song for Mabels!
by Mem

(To the tune of, "Oh Hanukkah...")

Oh Cartwright Men!
Oh Cartwright Men!
Please come back to us soon!

Oh Cartwright Men!
Oh Cartwright Men!
We're wishing on the full moon!

We'll gather round the TV
You'll give us a treat
Fishheads to play with
Churros to eat...

And while we are watching
Recorders are burning discs
One for each fan
Of each Cartwright man
To remind us of days long ago!
Ho!

Here's another one....
by Barb/VCG

(To the tune of "We Three Kings of Orient Are")

All:
We three sons of Ben Cartwright are.
Bearing gifts for Pa, we traverse afar.
Pa is waiting,
We are hastening
Home under Christmas stars.

Adam:
As the eldest my gift is first,
This handsome book of Will Shakespeare's verse.
I hope Pa likes it,
Otherwise, yikes, it
Could be a turn for worse.

Hoss:
I don't hold with readin' and such.
I like things you see-ee and touch.
So I whittled
This horse, so it'll
Please my Pa very much.

Little Joe:
Me and Paint don't ha-ave a lot.
So for Pa, this is what we got.
A tin of candy,
It'll be da-andy
And Pa will share a lot.

All:
We three sons of Ben Cartwright are.
Soon we'll be at Ponderosa.
Hop Sing's cooking,
Pa will be loo-oo-king
For us with open arms.

OH DHK!
by Mem (who clearly needs adult company)
(TO THE TUNE OF "OH CHRISTMAS TREE!")

*ahem*

Oh D-H-K
Oh D-H-K
You're Ben Cartwright forever!

Oh D-H-K
Oh D-H-K
You're Ben Cartwright forever!

Matt Car-mo-dy is A-ad-am!
And Drew as Hoss is number one!

Oh D-H-K
Oh D-H-K
You're Ben Cartwright forever!!

DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR
by AnnieO

(To the tune of, uh, "Do You Hear What I Hear?")

Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the forum fellow fans
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song soaring over the Ponderosa trees
A song sung just for you and for me
By voices as big as the sea.

HERE COME THE CARTWRIGHTS
by Eva (girlfmwl)
(To the tune of "Here Comes Santa Claus")

Here comes Ben Cartwright
Here comes Adam Cartwright
Riding down Virginia City Road!
Hoss and Joe and all their hands
are working on the Ranch
Cows are mooing, Horses are neighing
All is happy and right.
Hang your saddle and come to dinner
'Cause Hop Sing is cooking tonight.

Here comes Pa!
And Here comes the boys!
Right down Ponderosa trail!
Ben’s got a heart that is filled with love
for all his boys alike
Hear those cow bells jingle jangle,
What a beautiful sight.
Jump on on a horse and ride for town
'Cause the Ponderosa will be back!

ADAM THE BLUE EYED CARTWRIGHT!
by Barb/VCG

This one is for all, but is directed mostly at Ponbon, Janet, Hope and the rest of the MattPack.

To the tune of Rudolf, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, here is Adam, The Blue-Eyed Cartwright....

Now you know Eric and Joseph and Benjamin Cartwright,
'Lizbeth, Inger and Marie, the wives of Ben Cartwright,
But do you recall the most discussed Cartwright of all? Da dum dum dum

Adam, The Blue-Eyed Cartwright
Had a pair of bright blue eyes
And if you ever saw them
You'd lose your breath and heave a sigh.

All of the other Cartwrights
Used to roll their eyes and groan
Whenever Adam's blue eyes
Made the MattPack scream and moan.

Then one frosty Christmas Eve
Adam went to Pa.
"Pa, I need a gun this year,
The MattPack's made that very clear."

Then all the pinecones shuddered
knowing that their day had come
'Cuz Adam, the Blue-Eyed Cartwright
For Christmas finally got his gun.

DREAMING OF THE PONDEROSA
by Mem
(To the tune of White Christmas)

I'm dreaming of the Ponderosa
With Ben and Adam, Hoss and Joe
Where the tree tops glisten
And fans will listen
To hear, "Hallmark is a go"...oh...oh

I'm dreaming of the Ponderosa
With every cute blue eyed Cartwright.
May your days be merry and bright
And may all our Cartwright news delight!

I'm dreaming of the Ponderosa
With Dan and Matthew, Jared, Drew
Toiling in Australia
Sporting Tel's regalia
Trying hard to catch a kangaroo...

I'm dreaming of the Ponderosa
With all four guys we've come to love
Men who dign'fy Dortort's pride labove
While the other three enjoy it from above!

God bless the Cartwrights, EVERY ONE!
